Glenshire Pool Changes for the 2024 Swim Season

Important Information
The Glenshire Board is excited to share a significant change to the pools for the 2024 Pool Swim Season. The pools will be open from 7:00AM to 9:00PM, 7 days a week starting on Monday, April 1 through Thursday, October 31.

In order to achieve this and reduce the impact of rising lifeguard labor and pool maintenance costs, the pools will be operating with a “Hybrid Lifeguard Model.” This means that the pools will be considered “Swim at Your Own Risk” and will NOT have lifeguards present EXCEPT for the busiest pool hours after 4:00pm during peak summer days. Due to state and insurance requirements, the diving boards will only be open when lifeguards are present.

To facilitate this expanded pool access, a new keycard access system has been installed at both pool gates. Instead of issuing the typical plastic tags this year, ONE proximity keycard OR key fob will be issued per property. This proximity card/fob will unlock the pool gates during the pool season open hours.

Visit the Community Office Building at 8900 Abbeydale Dr, or download from the links above, the Keycard form/Liability Waiver/Pool Rules Agreement. This multi part froms must be completed and signed amd payment made, before a keycard/fob will be issued.

The East Pool will be split for residents and the Swim Team to use concurrently. Swim Team and lesson sign up details can be found at link above or www.wahoo.swimtopia.com/.

The West Pool will host 3 days a week water aerobics class. The pool will be sectioned off to allow for aerobics class and resident use of the pool concurrently. See the pool schedule for day and time details. Visit the Forms page or click the link above to download the Water Aerobics Registration form.

The Glenshire Board hopes this expanded pool access will enable more residents to take advantage of the two great pools in our community and the savings from the reduced lifeguard hours will allow for new improvements at our pools. In the event the pools and Glenshire community experience significant negatives from this change, the board is prepared to reevaluate the new “Hybrid Lifeguard” model and make changes as necessary.

We look forward to a GREAT 2024 Glenshire swim season.
